I started building my own personal websites in 1997. I don't use any programs to make the webpages. I use HTML/XHTML and CSS to make pages.
I build my websites for family and friends to see; For them to catch up monthly. I post monthly pictures of the family and other things that interest me. Visitors are welcome.
The reason I don't use programs to create my web pages is because the programs/software in stores or provided by hosting and domain providers usually render code that is un-needed. I don't use pre-made templates on my site. I work from a blank .html file and put in HTML and CSS tags. Templates makes everything easier and software takes alot of the work out of making a page, but I also enjoy using HTML/XHTML and CSS to create and edit files.
Although I code using HTML/XHTML and CSS, the Javascripts aren't my own. They are provided by various sources found throughout the internet.
Some examples of sites I've done are to the right. My own personal website titled Sehana Fortress. My Cousin's website was more of a collaboration. She knew the basics and I did the styles and layout. And I also host it. I also created the site R U Next. She is a hair stylist I know and asked me if I could do her website for her business.
I worked with them on how they wanted to be presented.
